Christoph Höschele: It’s all about connections 2021
Video animation, Laptop, colored sticky tapes, pennant chain

“Not for sale” examines the relationship between an artist and his work. When an artist decides not to sell his own work, that work is taken out of the system. The value of works is no longer defined by price, but by the emotional connection between the artist and his art piece. Additional value is created, and the usual assessment criteria no longer play a role.

Thrills and Chills (Group show curated by Daily Lazy Projects/Art Athina, Athens/Greece)

16.05. - 19.02.2013
The exhibition Thrills and Chills includes works that present variations of reality and challenge the relationship between optical and spiritual, illusiοnal and corporeal. The concept of the exhibition is based on selected texts taken from the stand-up performances of Bill Hicks. The collected text provides various narrations about drug use and how Hicks made philosophical comments on the meaning of existence and the perception of reality. Still very provoking and controversial the references on drug use attempt to argue about the relationship betweenreality, consciousness and illusion.

Hosted in Athens has invited groups of artists and collectives of different background and nationalities to present their activity in various buildings in the center of Athens through a series of events and exhibitions. The project seeks to advocate the local art scene and to introduce the work of international artists to the broader Athenian public. To provide the conditions for dialogue and collaboration between groups, communities and individuals and to establish connections between the cities involved emphasizing on the essence of networking and collectivity. The participatory groups will be able to display their joint collaborations, shows and events in the context of a broader perspective that includes artists, curators, institutions and host venues.
